To assist in the evaluation and development of products incorporating AMI’s Optical Receivers, we offer test board assemblies to simplify prototype construction, proof of concept, qualification testing and evaluation. Removing the burden of laying out a custom PC board or bread board during the evaluation process.
Model 7511B High Sensitivity APD Optical Receiver
The Model 7511B-1-04 is a high gain, low noise, APD-preamp, optical receiver. The compact construction (modified TO-8 header) and PCB mounting capability make the Model 7511B-1-04 ideal for miniature applications. Contact factory for alternate detector sizes, custom bandwidth and gain requirements. The Model 7511B-1-04 is classified as “EAR99” and is not subject to ITAR.
7511-PCB Optical Receiver Test Board
he 7511-PCB Optical Receiver Test Board is designed to assist in the evaluation and development of products that incorporate the AMI 7511 Series Optical Receiver and custom variants. This test board, along with the 7511 Receiver, may also be used as a stand-alone optical receiver ideal for driving A-D converters. The module is plug and play with a built-in high voltage power supply for detector biasing and temperature compensation. 50 Ohm differential outputs and hard limiting are featured along with high dynamic range and low headroom regulation for exceptionally low noise. The 7511B series receivers can easily be inserted into the socket pins without the need for soldering and the module is compatible with the SM2FH square optical adaptor manufactured by THORLABS. All output signals can be monitored via the test point pins and an external voltage signal can be applied to adjust the biasing voltage.
Model 755A-04.1 Hybrid Eyesafe Laser Rangefinder Receiver
The Model 755A-04.1 hybrid eyesafe laser rangefinder receiver is designed for laser rangefinding/surveying equipment. Because of the compact construction (Modified TO-8 header) and the PCB mounting capability, it is ideal for miniature applications. Fast recovery from To overload allows ranging to close objects without compromising long range performance. The incorporation of an InGaAs APD gives very high sensitivity with time programmed gain to minimize false targets. Operation at both 1.06 µm and 1.54 µm is possible over a wide range of pulse widths.
The 755A-PCB Evaluation Test Board is designed to assist in the evaluation and development of products that incorporate an AMI 755A/755A.1 Series Rangefinding Receiver and custom variants. The 755A receivers can easily be inserted into the socket pins without the need for soldering. All output signals can be monitored via the test point pins and an external voltage signal can be applied to switch the TPG between low and high gain.
Model 7551A-04 Miniaturized Laser Rangefinder Receiver with Range Processor
The 7551A-04 Laser Rangefinder Receiver/Processor assembly comprises a high performance InGaAs APD receiver with compact support electronics to provide corrected range data to a host system. The serial range data output is calibrated using AMI’s patented technology to mitigate the effects of range errors from various sources including walk due to return signal amplitude variations. Exceptional sensitivity allows the use of low power lasers, or alternatively, long range operation. The module provides high voltage bias, time programmed gain, first, last or strongest pulse selection, range gating as well as a number of user-controlled options via the serial interface. The compact layout allows positioning at the optics for minimum overall system size.
The 7551A INTERFACE is a test fixture designed to assist with the evaluation and development of products that incorporate an AMI Laser Rangefinder Receiver with Range Processor Model 7551A and custom variants. The included Graphical User Interface (GUI) program allows for easy interfacing with a PC to quickly test and learn the full capabilities of the 7551A module. All required mating cables are included with the device.
Model 7555 High Performance Laser Rangefinder Receiver with Range Processor
The 7555 Laser Rangefinder Receiver/Processor assembly comprises a high performance Model 755A-04 receiver with compact support electronics to provide corrected range data to a mother system. The serial range data output is calibrated using AMI’s patented technology to mitigate the effects of range errors from various sources including walk due to return signal amplitude variations. Exceptional sensitivity allows the use of low power lasers, or alternatively, long range operation. The module provides high voltage bias, time programmed gain, first, last or strongest pulse selection, range gating as well as a number of user controlled options via the serial interface. The compact layout allows positioning at the optics for minimum overall system size.
Standard RS232 for easy interfacing to PC or other serial device at 57.6kbps. LVTTL interface for connection to AMI LRF Receiver Range-Processor operating at 115.2 kbps. Pass-thru mode that allows RS232 host system (such as standard PC) to communicate with an AMI LRF Receiver Range-Processor connected to the LVTTL interface. The 7555 Interface Test Board provides buffering and baud rate translation.
Model 742DP Laser Spot Tracker Module
The Model 742DP is a new generation of Laser Spot Tracker Module with wide flexibility for missile and platform tracker applications. The detector is temperature controlled and optimized for 1.06 µm. Independent five channel
noise detectors set the lowest thresholds to achieve long acquisition ranges for different background light and spot positions and special circuits resist sunlight blinding in any one or all quadrants. A range of N-type custom designed detectors gives the highest performance at 1.06 µm. A separate substrate allows the detector size or type to be optimized for your application. Model 742DP comprises a hermetically-sealed temperature-controlled detector with built-in front-end electronics, mounted on a SMT board. A second printed board contains analog and digital processing circuits. The individual channels are digitized with a high-speed A-D converter and output as a serial digital interface for steering. An adaptive threshold control allows optimum signal-to-noise operation and power management is used to reduce power consumption.
The 742DP Emulator is a test fixture designed to assist the evaluation and development of products that incorporate an AMI quadrant laser spot tracker Model 742DP-1, 742DP-2, and custom variants. All required mating cables are included with the device. The 742DP Emulator test fixture only requires +5 V & GND connections. Typical current is 0.04 A without any load on the RS422 transmitter, and 0.06 A with 120 Ω load on the RS422 transmitter.
